Next Course:

Saturday 2nd February - £60 per person

The aim of the course is to help you overcome your fear of riding, however it was created.  This course is about positivity and encouragement.  Nobody has to ride or get on a horse if they don't want to - you can learn just as much watching the clinic.  But for those of you who would like to ride the option is there too.  You can also bring your own horse.

We will work with a number of exercises starting with breathing, muscle relaxation vs muscle tension, body balance and positioning and the effects this has on the horse and rider.

Over the course of the two days we will work towards re-programming our bodies to relax when we feel nervous instead of tensing, therefore sending more positive messages to our horses.

MAXIMUM OF FOUR PLACES - if you wish to ride a quarter of each session will be spent on horseback.

A little bit about Lisa ...

Following an accident in 1993 where I broke my wrist and cut my face badly, I lost my nerve.  I would wake up sweating and worrying about what horse I would have to ride (my job at the time involved riding three racehorses a day).  I was so full of tension that every horse I sat on was naughty, even the quiet ones.  Everyone teased me and said I was a bottle jockey and that I couldn't ride ... I almost believed them and spent a while working in a racing office so I only had to ride out one lot a day ... but something deep inside told me that they were wrong - I knew I could ride - I'd been doing it since I was 3!

It's taken 10 years but I have found a way to overcome my fear of riding.  I am now riding more confidently than I ever did and find horses go better and better for me ....

I would like to share some of the ways in which I re-programmed how my muscles worked when I felt nervous and how to think positively to re-train your powerful mind!!
